Grid drawing
The grid technique is a drawing technique that allows you to reproduce an image using a grid.
The principle is to draw a grid over our reference image and then reproduce this grid on the drawing medium (traditional or digital).
By proceeding in this way, it is easier to reproduce the image since on the one hand we obtain useful reference points for preserving the proportions, but also we cut the work into as many small tasks as there are squares.
This technique is very useful for changing the proportions of an image, especially for drawing or painting large formats, but also to help beginners.
The grid method can be seen as a first step towards freehand drawing.
It allows you to concentrate on the details while waiting to mature your perception of proportions.
